Born in Portsmouth England, November 17th 1990, Richard spent his early years fooling around with instruments but never took the endeavor seriously. He was in fact, put in skis at an early age and quickly started ski racing on the British dry slope circuit until the age of 11, when he started training in Chamonix, France with the British Ski Academy. At 14 Richard’s parents moved to the U.S. where he attended Stratton Mountain School to pursue his long standing love of the sport. At 21 Richard’s ski racing dreams came to an end and it became time to pursue and join the rest of the world in the rat-race of life.
At this time Richard took on music as a new odyssey to embark on, and began practicing Piano and Guitar at his Family’s home in New Jersey. He attended Raritan Valley Community to College for two years studying and practicing and at 23 he was accepted into Montclair State University as a music composition student. Richard Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.8 GPA in 2016 and began working as a music teacher at Bridgewater School of Music and working as a freelance Musician around New Jersey. In 2018 Richard returned to MSU to pursue a Masters degree in Classical Guitar Performance, graduating in 2020 with a 4.0 GPA. He continued his work a Music Teacher but due to the arrival of COVID, he was unable to continue his work as a performing Musician. Starved for opportunity Richard began looking for other forms of employment and found a job with Amazon as an Area Manager in Buffalo, NY. in 2021 Richard left New Jersey and began his career in corporate America.
For 5 years Richard worked in various manager roles at various companies including Sumitomo, Carvana and Wayfair. However, dissatisfied with the corporate work environment, and missing his life as a musician. Richard left the corporate world and moved South to be near his Family, who were retiring in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Here Richard began has begun working to reestablish himself as a musician. Richard plays every Sunday at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, stay tuned for upcoming events and performances on Hilton Head Island and Beaufort County area!
